Juniper Networks QFX5110 Ethernet Switches
Very Low-Latency, High-Performance, 10/40/100GbE Data Center Switches
The QFX5100 line of scalable Layer 2/3 switches-including the 10/40GbE QFX5100 and the 10/40/100GbE QFX5110-is optimized for application delivery and contains a powerful feature set for virtualized data centers.
The QFX5100 and QFX5110 data center switching platforms provide universal building blocks for multiple fabric architectures. They work with the Juniper mixed 1/10/40/100GbE Virtual Chassis, Virtual Chassis Fabric, and Junos Fusion architectures. The QFX5100 and QFX5110 switches also support open architectures, such as spine and leaf, Layer 3, and Open Clos IP fabrics.
QFX5100 and QFX5110 switches enable high-availability data center operations by allowing unified in-service software upgrades (ISSU). They also support virtualized network environments, including Juniper Contrail and VMware NSX Layer 2 gateway services.
For added flexibility, the QSFP+ ports on both the QFX5100 and QFX5110 switch models can serve as 4x10GbE ports using QSFP+ to SFP+ direct-attach copper (DAC) or QSFP+ to SFP+ fiber splitter cables and optics. Additionally, the QSFP28 ports on the QFX5110 can be configured as 4x10GbE ports using breakout cables, providing additional configuration flexibility.
In converged server-edge access environments, the QFX5100 switches can be deployed as standards-based Fibre Channel-over-Ethernet (FCoE) transit switches, protecting investments in existing data center aggregation and Fibre Channel storage-area network (SAN) infrastructures.
- High-Density IP Fabrics
Throughput of up to 2.56 Tbps sustains wire-speed switching with low latency and jitter, as well as full Layer 2 and Layer 3 performance. - Redundant Power and Cooling
Dual hot-swappable AC or DC power supplies provide 1+1 redundancy, while five hot-swappable fan trays maintain high system availability. - Separate Control and Data Planes
Keeping the control and data planes independent maximizes system availability and throughput. - Server and Network Virtualization
A software-programmable infrastructure lets you make the most of your network resources and quickly adapt to changing needs. - Energy Efficiency
Minimized power consumption reduces your carbon footprint and operational expenses. - Network Automation
Support for Python, Puppet, and zero-touch provisioning (ZTP) helps you address growing network complexity. - Unified In-Service Software Upgrades (ISSU)
Network administrators make software upgrades in minutes with no downtime, which means no lost user productivity.
